Model Shoot with Piani and Rei!

Rei and I had been wanting to do a collaborative project for quite some time now, and we finally put together a model shoot with Piani earlier last month :) I did a shoot with Piani a little over two years ago, so it was great to work with her again! Rei and I decided we'd try a lifestyle boudoir theme, focusing on two locations: Rei's home, and a hotel (thank you Steve!) for an variety in ambiance.

The shoot was a two day project, with around nine hours of shoot time. Rei did an awesome job on makeup for both days, giving her a chance to experiment with two different looks. This was our first time shooting photos simultaneously, so it felt pretty cool to be able bounce ideas around in real time.

Thailand Trip Part 1

On March 7th, Alan, Jack and I embarked on an adventure to Thailand and India (Trevor would join us later in India). This trip was centered around the birth of Alan's baby girls, Ava and Addison, and also presented a chance for us to see a part of Asia. We spent the first week in Thailand, meeting Alan's family, walking the streets of his childhood memories, and exploring the colorful culture of the Land of Smiles.

Two weeks later, I came back to Hawaii with over 2000 photos, trying to figure out how I wanted to blog such a large body of work. I realized it'd be best to split the photos from this trip, so this post will be the first of four. A lot of photos are narrated, so I will let them do the talking :)

Cassiee and Eldon Married!

This wedding is going in the books for one of the most epic I've ever documented. Cassiee and Eldon put so much care and planning into their event, and it was remarkable to see it all come together! You can check out the full post on the Isle Media blog. 

In other news, my blog just passed 100,000 views!!! Kata posted my 3N1 20 backpack review on their Facebook page and the post got over 950 views in one day, pushing the stats past 100K :)

Model Shoot with Shanrae!

A couple weeks ago, I shot with Shanrae @ Niche Models. She's got a different look from models that I typically work with, and I was excited to get some headshots with her (which her look is very well-suited for IMO) Shanrae brought an awesome wardrobe to the shoot, and we ended mixing and matching a bunch of outfits to give a lifestyle/commercial feel to the images. She's planning to study fashion later on, so I'd say she off to a pretty good start :)

Kata 3N1 20 Backpack Review

I've owned this Kata 3N1 20 bag for over 2 years now, and I gotta say, it's pretty solid. Before my gear outgrew it, this bag was what I took to weddings with me. I still use this bag when I don't need to bring my full set up to stuff like model shoots or engagement sessions.

Love in Kohala

I've seen a lot of wedding dresses over the past few years, but Cassiee's dress really stood out in its style and elegance. A couple weeks ago, a team of us from Isle Media were flown out to Kohala Ranch on the Big Island for the wedding, and all I can say is that it was pretty damn spectacular :) Trevor (who was doing video) and I both climbed up a tree to get this angle on the couple after the ceremony. Totally worth it!

Today, I'll be flying back to Kohala to shoot a post wedding shoot for Cassiee and Eldon. It will be my fourth time flying to a neighbor island this month! (twice to Maui and twice to Big Island)

Shanrae

Had my first model shoot thru Niche yesterday, with Shanrae! She's got one of those looks that are just very well suited for headshots, and I ended up shooting a lot of those with her. Couldn't have asked for better lighting too :) More to come later!
