The Windy Look

Here's my favorite image from a shoot I did with Kristy last week! Shot this out at Kahala Beach, where winds were an estimated 32 mph. Wind usually messes up the model's hair, but in this case, I was banking on it to sweep Kristy's hair across her face to add a sense of motion to the image. This style of slightly overexposing skin tones for high contrast B&W was inspired from fellow photographer and friend, Claire Gordon, who uses this technique very well in her own portraiture.

  1. She's beautiful. I like the technique.
