One morning, while my family and I were staying in Coos Bay, Oregon, we woke up to some thick fog that had rolled in from the sea. I grabbed my camera and headed down to the docks, where ships looked like they were floating on a seamless piece of glass, because the horizon was obscured, and the absence of wind assured that there were near-perfect reflections in the water.
