Man VS Wave

As we roll into winter, the waves start getting bigger. Bigger waves means surfers, and surfers mean cool photos. My dad & I drove out to Waimea Bay on Election Day after hearing that swells would reach 15-20 feet on the North Shore. This photo was shot near the church overlooking the bay. I saw this surfer who had been wiped out by a wave, and shot the picture as he turned around to see another incoming wave. (Nikon D300, 80-200 @ f5, ISO 400, 1/4000 sec) More to come soon!
