When I was up at Pacific U in Oregon, I did a large portrait project for the track team as a surprise gift for their coach. At the time, I was just getting my head around how to use light modifiers with my speedlights, so having the opportunity to shoot a whole track team was a way cool experience for me!
Jenna did exactly as the title suggests. To get this shot, I had a softbox that I built out of Chinese restaurant take-out boxes (sounds ghetto, but it worked amazingly well), that I had positioned camera right. Jenna worked her magic, and I fired the flash at the apex of her jump. It took several tries to get right, but this was the final product :)

How did you get everything around her to be so dark?? I love it!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashley! The exposure settings I used killed most of the ambient light, but allowed the light from the flash to come through in the image.
